The Brazil legend has praised Gabriel Jesus for his strong start at Arsenal.
Gabriel Jesus will continue repaying the love he has received from Arsenal by improving his performances, according to Ronaldinho.
Jesus won eight trophies at Manchester City, scoring 95 goals in his 236 appearances for the Citizens. However, even after Sergio Aguero’s exit, he never became City’s main striker under Pep Guardiola.
The Brazil international has shown impressive form since arriving at Arsenal earlier this summer.
A remarkable home debut saw Jesus provide two assists and score twice in his side’s 4-2 win over Leicester City last weekend.
Speaking to Mirror, Ronaldinho has backed his countryman to establish a reputation as one of the best players in Europe.
“When Gabriel joined Manchester City, I said he would go on to be one of the best players in the world,” Ronaldinho began, via the Mirror.
“When he was given a chance, he showed what he was capable of. But at Manchester City he was never shown the love a player of his quality deserves.
“At Arsenal he has recieved the chance to be the focal point. The coach and the fans have shown him love, and already he is repaying that.
“This season I expect big things from him – he will repay the love shown in him by showing he is not just one of the best players in the Premier League but also in Europe.”
