The Chelsea striker admits he is ‘not happy’ with the current situation at the club.

Chelsea have been far from their best form lately. Following their solid start to the season, the Blues have not been able to retain their momentum. A disappointing draw against Brighton on Wednesday saw the Blues go eight points behind Manchester City on top of the table.

Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku on a club-record fee of £97.5million to solve their goalscoring problems. However, the former Inter striker has struggled to adapt to Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.

In an explosive interview on Thursday, Lukaku expressed his frustration over Tuchel’s plans.

He told Sky Sport Italia“Physically I’m fine, even better than before. After two years in Italy, in which I worked a lot at Inter with trainers and nutritionists, I am physically fine. But I’m not happy with the situation, this is normal.

“I think the coach has chosen to play with another system, I just have to not give up and continue to work and be a professional.

Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea last summer after spending two successful campaigns at Inter. The Belgian striker

“I am not happy with the situation, but I am a worker and I must not give up.”

Moving back to Inter?

Roughly six months into his move back to Chelsea, Lukaku is already thinking about returning to Inter. The Belgian striker opened up about his regret over the way he left the Serie A giants.

“I think everything that happened was not supposed to happen like this,” he added.

“How I left Inter, how I communicated with the fans, this bothers me because it is not the right time now, but even when I left it was not the right time.

“Now I think it is right to speak because I have always said that I have Inter in my heart, I will return to play there, I really hope so.

“I am in love with Italy, this is rightly the time to talk and let people know what really happened without talking badly about people because I am not like that.”

Chelsea will face Liverpool in a crunch Premier League game on Sunday. It will be a battle between two sides who are eager to bounce back from their recent run of form. However, Lukaku’s interview suggests that Tuchel might have a lot more to do to return his side to winning ways.
