Paulo Fonseca couldn’t help but praise Cristiano Ronaldo for the goal he scored against his Roma team this Saturday.

If someone asks you how Ronaldo’s goal against Roma was, just answer them this: Even Roma’s manager praised the player who scored against his team. Juventus have surpassed the Giallorossi at the Serie A table and now occupy third place just five points behind current leaders Inter Milan.

Despite his team’s loss, Paulo Fonseca gave the well-deserved credit to the player who opened the score against Roma. According to the Portuguese manager, it’s performances like this that prove Ronaldo’s value to the world of football.

“This is why Ronaldo is the best in the world, because he can score goals like that out of nowhere. We didn’t make a mistake on that goal: it’s just Ronaldo.”

Fonseca believes Roma were the better team.

The Portuguese manager felt that his team had been somewhat unlucky for the result they ended up with. In fact, Fonseca noticed that Roma led all of the match’s statistics and that they forced Juventus to defend near the box. However, the team’s poor finishing dictated the result of the fixture.

“We got into their final third so many times, but the final ball was always wrong. We had so many half-chances and made mistakes.

“There are no moral victories in football, but I am proud of the players, they showed great courage and character here and that gives me faith for the future.”
