The Catalans might offload a defender after the signing of Andreas Christensen.
Roma are reportedly keen to add Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet to their squad ahead of the next season.
The French defender is among several players who are linked with moves away from Barca this summer. According to ESPN, Xavi Hernandez has already informed the 27-year-old that he is not part of his plans for the next season.
Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with the Catalans over a loan move for Lenglet. ESPN claims Barcelona would prefer a permanent move, but a loan deal could still help down cut spending on wages.
However, new suitors have emerged for Lenglet that might change Barca’s decision to loan out the centre-back.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Roma are keen to add Lenglet to their squad as part of their summer recruitment under Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager has vowed to improve Giallorossi’s defence, with Lenglet being one of his summer targets. The Serie A giants are yet to submit a bid for the defender, with Tottenham still being in pole position to sign him.
Having already secured the signing of Andreas Christensen as a free agent, Barcelona are looking for more defensive options.
Another Chelsea star, Cesar Azpilicueta, is on Barca’s radar this summer. However, the club’s financial issues might prevent them from signing another defender this summer.
