The Rossoneri maintained their brilliant start to the new Serie A season.

Milan defeated Roma 2-1 in their Serie A game on Friday. The Rossoneri played with ten men in the final 30 minutes but still managed to leave Stadio Olimpico with a victory.

What happened?

Similar to their last week’s match against Torino, Milan pushed for an early opener as soon as the game started. Olivier Giroud converted a penalty for the Rossoneri as they went ahead in the ninth minute.

Roma barely created a serious chance before the visitors doubled their lead early in the second period. Following a cross from Davide Calabria, Rafael Leao made it 2-0 with a sublime overhead kick.

Roma were given a significant boost to mount a comeback when Fikayo Tomori was sent off with a second yellow card in the 61st minute. But Jose Mourinho’s men had to wait until the 92nd minute to finally score their first goal of the night.

Spinazzola’s deflected shot brought the hosts back into the game. But it was already too late for Roma to escape the defeat against their ten-man opponents.

Roma vs Milan: Man of the Match

Leao made another brilliant display for Milan as they defeated Roma 2-1. The Portugal international scored his first goal of the season in style while constantly putting pressure on Gianluca Mancini on the right-hand side of Roma’s backline.
