Manchester City midfielder Rodri has revealed the key reason behind his side’s impressive form and unbeaten run.
Rodri has hailed the close bond and togetherness among the City squad as the reason behind their remarkable form at the moment.
The Citizens beat West Ham 2-1 at the weekend to make it 20 successive wins across all competitions. The last time they lost a game this season goes all the way back to November 2020.
It is further impressive that City have failed to trail behind any side during the course of their unbeaten run.
Guardiola recently claimed ‘money’ is the secret behind his side’s unbeaten run, but Rodri has hailed the unity and collective focus of the squad.
He said to the club’s website: “I’m in an unbelievable team with unbelievable human beings.”
“There’s an amazing environment in the team, we’re all friends and it’s like a family.”
“I enjoy playing with all of them, each one with his personality and his skills, I learn about everyone.”
City are now faced with the burden of keeping their winning streak intact, and Rodri says they are aware only their best performance can see them keep it up.
“Football is very tough and the differences are so tiny that you have to do your best,” he added.
“There’s only one team that wins the trophy and 19 that don’t, it’s very tough so I always say ‘don’t drop it guys, keep going.”
“We’re doing an amazing thing but only with the work and focus we can continue with this.”
