The Foxes striker bowed out of last weekend’s win over Spurs, leaving him in doubt for the Manchester United match.

Brendan Rodgers has announced Jamie Vardy is fit for Leicester City’s Boxing Day showdown with Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.

Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner scored in the 2-0 triumph over Tottenham last Sunday before he was forced off in the closing stages. However, Rodgers has assured it is nothing to be concerned about.

The same cannot be said for Caglar Soyuncu, though. The defender, who has been sidelined with a groin injury this month, has made progress on his recovery but a return on Saturday may be too soon.

“Vardy will be fine for the game,” said Rodgers as quoted on Sky Sports. “It’s just a bit of soreness. It will be pretty much the same squad.

“Caglar Soyuncu may be close. If not for Saturday, he could be ready for Crystal Palace on Monday.”

Leicester’s win over Spurs last weekend, meanwhile, moved them up into second in the Premier League table.

The Foxes currently sit one point above third-placed United, who have a game in hand.
