Only a few possess the necessary skill set to replicate Sadio Mane’s wonder goal against Norwich last season, claims Andy Robertson.

One of Liverpool’s most stern tests en route to their historical Premier League campaign came in the shape of Norwich City.

The Reds were the more dominant side throughout the game but found it quite burdensome to breach the opposition defense.

It remained a deadlock until 77 minutes of action and it was Sadio Mane who produced a change in the scoreline with a sumptuous strike.

Mane, after bringing down a defense-splitting pass from Jordan Henderson with a lovely touch, escaped his markers and fired at the near post to give his side the lead.

The African Footballer of the Year was making his first appearance after a spell on the sidelines and had been on the pitch for less than 20 minutes when he struck the match-winner at Carrow Road February.

Andy Robertson believes Mane’s goal against Norwich is a testament to the fact that he is one of the best players in the world.

Robertson told the official club website: “Sadio went through his full repertoire of skill, strength, speed of thought, and top-class finishing to get the goal that took us over the line. For Sadio to bring the ball down, spin away from his marker, turn and finish with his left foot was incredible.

“That’s why he’s one of the best players in the world, for me.

“He can do the unexpected, he can beat you with his upper body strength, he can go past you with skill or fly past you with speed.”
