Liverpool star Andy Robertson admits he does not want the prospect of facing Lionel Messi regularly in the Premier League.

Many might want Messi in the Premier League but Andy Robertson isn’t one of them.

The future of the Barca captain remains uncertain with strong reports linking him with an exit from the club.

Since Messi put in his transfer request, he’s been linked to a number of sides but Manchester City look the likely option if an exit would happen.

In the Premier League, Liverpool and Manchester City have looked the most dominant sides over the past two seasons. Robertson and the company outperformed their rivals and pip them to the title last season.

Even without Messi in the mix, the Citizens look all fired up to fight back for the title ahead of next season.

Robertson has come up against Messi a number of times and can not imagine the thought of the 33-year-old adding even more quality to his rivals.

The Scottish international was asked about potential rumors of Messi to the Premier League and joked he doesn’t want that happening.

“I think Liverpool have ruled out that we could sign him so I don’t want him anywhere near the Premier League and hopefully it stays that way,” Robertson said as quoted by Metro.

“I’ve played against him twice and it’s the hardest games I’ve ever played.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp takes the opposite side and would not mind Messi in the Premier League with Manchester City.
