After getting selected to win FIFA’s The Best Award of 2020, we have Robert Lewandowski’s reaction with president Gianni Infantino.
Robert Lewandowski was probably ready to be recognized with FIFA’s The Best Award after his brilliant 2020 year for Bayern Munich. However, he never expected getting a visit from the FIFA president himself. Gianni Infantino had a great surprise for him after making the trip to Munchen to personally deliver the award. In this contest, the Polish striker beat Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best footballer of the year.
Officially, we can already say that Lewandowski is currently the best player in the world. It is a well-deserved award that everybody was expecting, not an upset like the one we had with Jurgen Klopp and Hansi Flick earlier in the ceremony. Despite the recognition, Robert was still surprised by the unexpected visit from Infantino.
Lewandowski’s reaction after getting the award.
After getting surprised by Infantino, Lewandowski said the following through Goal: “I feel fantastic,” Lewandowski said. “I am very proud and happy to be honest this is a great day for me, and also for my club and colleagues. This award also belongs to my colleagues, the coach, and Bayern Munich in general. It is an incredible feeling, a lot of emotions.
“If you win such an award and share that title with Messi and Ronaldo, that is unbelievable and it means so much to me. A long time ago, I remember I was longing for something like this and now I can win such an award. This really means, regardless of where you come from, all that matters is what you put into it.”
