Following a goal-laden debut campaign in the Catalan capital, ‘Lewy’ is striving for even greater heights in his second season.
Robert Lewandowski is ‘sure’ he can improve on his 32-goal tally for Barcelona in the 2023/24 season.
The €45 million signing from Bayern Munich last summer has had a productive first season at the Spotify Camp Nou, managing 32 goals and seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
He also holds a five-goal lead over Real Madrid star Karim Benzema as the highest scorer in La Liga, with 22 goals to his name.
“More than 30 goals in my first season? I would have signed for that at the start of the campaign,” Lewandowski told Polish journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk.
“It was difficult at the start, with the World Cup on the horizon, it wasn’t a normal pre-season. I’m sure I can do better in the second season.”
Lewandowski has helped Barcelona win their first La Liga title since 2019 in his debut campaign. He also won the Spanish Super Cup with the club in January.
