The Man City winger could leave the club ahead of the next season.
Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli are reportedly preparing a £30m offer for Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
Mahrez still has two years left on his current City deal. However, he has emerged as a transfer target for the Saudi Arabian giants ahead of the next season.
According to the Athletic, the Algerian star is yet to make a final decision on the move, with Al Ahli offering him wages of around £25m per year.
Mahrez came close to leaving City last summer but ended up extending his contract after Raheem Sterling’s departure. Making 47 appearances across all competitions, the former Leicester City star remained an important part of City’s attacking line as they claimed the treble last season.
After losing Ilkay Gundogan on a free departure, City went on to add Mateo Kovacic to their ranks. However, finding a replacement for Gundogan could be more challenging, with Bernardo Silva’s situation also being uncertain ahead of the next campaign.
Mahrez’s possible departure could provide Cole Palmer with a chance to secure a regular lineup spot under Pep Guardiola. The 21-year-old made 14 Premier League appearances for the Citizens last season and was a crucial member of England’s triumphant side in the U21 Euros.
