The PSG forward has edged closer to leaving the club in recent weeks.

Brazil legend Rivaldo hopes Neymar will join Manchester United after leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

A world-record €222m move saw Neymar leave Barcelona for PSG in 2017. The Brazil superstar has remained a cornerstone of the French giants’ attacking line, scoring 105 goals in his 186 appearances for the club.

Neymar’s current deal at Parc des Princes runs until 2025. However, the Brazil international is heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Both Man Utd and Chelsea have emerged as Neymar’s possible next destinations, with Rivaldo preferring to see his countryman in United’s jersey.

“I am in favour of Neymar transferring to Manchester United,” the Brazil legend said.

“In recent days there has been talk that Neymar might sign for United at the end of the season and, unlike when he left Barcelona for PSG, this time I am in favour of this move.”

Earlier this week, another former Brazil international, Willian, backed Neymar to continue his career at Old Trafford.

“It would be really cool to see him play in the Premier League,” he added. “He has a place in any team in the world thanks to his qualities.

“You only need to know if he wants to go to [Manchester United].”
