The Manchester United legend believes the Spurs will see their coach resign at the end of the season.

Antonio Conte delivered a controversial rant after his side’s 1-0 defeat against Burnley on Wednesday. The Italian manager played down his statements over Tottenham’s ‘unacceptable’ situation before his side’s game against Leeds United.

However, Rio Ferdinand believes the Italian will walk away from the club next summer.

“I don’t think he’ll be there after the summer,” he told BT Sport before Spurs’ 4-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday.

“Based on what I’ve seen in the media and the players he’s got there, I think he’ll be quite comfortable going ‘listen, I didn’t know it was that bad’.

“He’s not someone who will look back and regret that, I’ll be very surprised if he’s still here.”

Conte has a long history of unexpected resigns in his career. Having won three consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus, the Italian walked away from the club in 2014.

Prior to joining Tottenham, Conte had resigned from coaching Inter after winning the Scudetto with them last season.

Tottenham will face Middlesbrough in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday. The Spurs will then return to Premier League action to face Everton six days later.
