There are reports coming from Spain about Sergio Aguero finally reaching an agreement with his new club for the upcoming season.

Sergio Aguero recently announced he wouldn’t continue playing at Manchester City after a prolific run at the English club. We had some idea of where he could go after that but there was nothing clear until today. The rumors are intensifying as the days go by and today is the day when they got even stronger. Mundo Derportivo is reporting that the Argentine player already agreed to sign a new contract for FC Barcelona at the start of next season.

He would come as a free agent and there’s still his wage to discuss with the club. Apparently, the plan Joan Laporta has is to sign both ‘Kun’ and Memphis Depay for free. He wants to get rid of other players who are not as important for the club as these two would be. Essentially, selling players like Martin Braithwaite or Phil Coutinho is a top priority for the Catalan club. If that happens, Aguero and Depay will be amongst the first players to sign a new contract with Barcelona. Also, Eric Garcia is still very much a prime objective for them.

Sergio Aguero’s legacy at Manchester City.

After he leaves, Sergio Aguero will be considered one of the most important foreign players in Premier League history. He even ranks above key footballers such as Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, and Didier Drogba in terms of achievements. In fact, winning the UEFA Champions League as his final trophy at the club would be the cherry on top for Aguero.

Even though his level of performance hasn’t been what it was in the past, ‘Kun’ still has a giant legacy that he leaves behind him in English football. After scoring a staggering 258 goals with the club, there is no doubt that Aguero is already Manchester City’s biggest legend. All the supporters will take that goal against Queen’s Park Rangers to their graves as will any football fan who witnessed that moment in real time. Messi will be happy to hear he will play alongside his dear friend at a football club.
