According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Saul Niguez is currently on the market and undecided to play in one of two EPL clubs.
Earlier in the summer, there were many clubs interested in signing Saul Niguez but his destiny appears linked to the EPL. As one of Atletico Madrid’s most important players of the last decade, it seems Diego Simeone no longer has a place for him in the squad. With other great players such as Rodrigo de Paul or Hector Herrera in his position, Saul seems doomed to leave the Colchoneros.
His options were many a couple of months ago but the transfer market is rushing to an end next week. This leaves very little opportunity for Saul to pick his most preferred destination. FC Barcelona was interested in the player but the Catalan club refused to make a trade for Antoine Griezmann if Atletico didn’t pay some money. However, recent reports suggest that two football clubs from England are very interested in fighting for Saul’s signature before August 31st.
Chelsea and United are Saul’s options.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saul Niguez has Chelsea and Manchester United as his possible options. On one hand, the Blues are asking for a loan that could give them an option to buy the player after one year. Manchester United are more interested in buying Saul as soon as the player agrees to play for the Red Devils. Over the past 24 hours, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad made inquiries over the Atletico Madrid player.
We will have some confirmation on his future over the next couple of days. But make no mistake, Saul Niguez will leave the Colchoneros for a new club before the end of August. The Premier League is the most obvious option but there are still a few clubs in Spain and Germany that would also love to have him on their roster. All we can do for now, is wait.
