It happened during the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich was rejected by Real Madrid over one of their rising talents.
Real Madrid must have many players a club like Bayern Munich must want in their ranks, some are established players and others are rising stars. The Bavarian giants have attempted to persuade players to move to their ranks in the past, but they were adamant about one. We are talking about Uruguay native, Federico Valverde.
With Javi Martinez on his way out of the club after an illustrious career, it’s time to find his replacement. Bayern’s board considered that Fede Valverde was the ideal man to fill that void but they met a resounding ‘NO’ from Los Blancos. Despite his predilection for players from the French market, it is clear that Zinedine Zidane knows how important Valverde is for the squad.
Plus, there’s no way Florentino Perez would allow the young midfielder to leave. Valverde is considered the next in line to replace seasoned veterans such as Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. Although he had a small dip in form recently, the club still trusts Fede for the next decade.
Bayern’s offer for Valverde.
We still don’t have specific details of Bayern’s offer to Real Madrid, only a report from Sport that confirms they attempted to convince him. The player was the one who initially rejected the offer when they approached him, then the club did exactly the same.
We need to keep in mind that Bayern also lost Thiago Alcantara this season, they are in desperate need of a player with Valverde’s characteristics. The problem here is that Fede’s position on the pitch is one of the most sought after in world football.
Finding an ideal player at a young age will be extremely difficult for Bayern. Real Madrid is not in a position to let some of their rising stars leave, especially during a time of crisis. Dark times are coming for Spanish football in general, which is why keeping Valverde is a fantastic idea.
