However, they still had hopes to offer a good performance considering how good Kylian Mbappe has been away from home.
The French forward just finished today’s training session with some muscular problems that could jeopardize everything. PSG issued a medical report on their official website where they confirm Mbappe’s calf problems. His participation in next week’s semifinal will depend on his recovery process from now until then. This would be a major blow for Mauricio Pochettino and his chances of getting to another Champions League final.
Can Mbappe leave PSG after this?
If he doesn’t play and PSG get eliminated, there is a major chance that Kylian Mbappe will leave the club this summer. Even if the French giants end up winning the trophy, it’s highly unlikely he will remain at the club. We all know his intention is to someday play at Real Madrid and fulfill the dream he had as a child. When asked about the chances of Mbappe leaving, Mauricio Pochettino said the following: “It’s a question for Kylian and not for me.
“We lost a game but there is still the return leg and weird things can happen in the Champions League. He has one more year of contract. I said it before but the club and I are doing our best to ensure that he stays for many years. The club is working on it and Kylian Mbappe is happy with us. We have one month of competition left to achieve the objectives set and we are still in the race.”
