After much speculation about his future, we can finally report that PSG made a formal offer to Kylian Mbappe and he is considering it.

PSG have been trying to get Kylian Mbappe to sign a contract extension for nearly a year, but the player hasn’t been that responsive. In recent months, he spoke to the press about how grateful he feels towards the French club for everything they did for him. But he is not fooling anybody with his statements. We’ve all known his main intention is to someday play for Real Madrid and this summer might be the time to make the move.

Until today, there hadn’t been an offer on the table to renew his contract. PSG has carefully examined the options they have to make an offer that might convince him. According to a recent report from L’Equipe, the PSG board finally came up with a number they believe will convince him to remain at the club. Due to the global pandemic, there are few clubs that can match PSG’s formal offer of €30 million per season after tax.

PSG still fears Mbappe might leave.

But just think about this for a second. If Kylian Mbappe truly wanted to remain at PSG, he would’ve signed his contract extension a while ago. It’s no secret he wants to play at the same club where Cristiano Ronaldo (his idol) became a legend. Another factor that convinced him he wants to play there is Zinedine Zidane’s presence at the club.

As the new number ‘10’ in France, getting managed by the ultimate French legend is another dream come true. But the recent news about ‘Zizou’ getting an offer from the Federation might persuade him to stay. As far as we know, Mbappe still hasn’t made a decision but this concrete offer will force his hand. He will have to make a decision before the end of June. Where would you like Kylian Mbappe to play next year? PSG, Real Madrid, or somewhere else?
