Several sources have reported that the two parties have reached an agreement regarding Mesut Ozil’s contract.

It looks like Ozil’s drama series at Arsenal is about to release its last episode. After almost eight years with the Gunners, the German footballer is set to leave the Emirates very soon.

According to ESPN, Mesut Ozil has reached an agreement with Arsenal to terminate his contract this ongoing weekend. Moreover, the player is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce this Monday.

In fact, the 32-year-old has recently expressed his desire to play for the Yellow Canaries before the end of his career. It seems that his wish is about to come true as he will soon be available to sign a contract as a free player.

In order to make it happen, Ozil has reportedly agreed to let go of a part of the wages he’s entitled to. According to the player, Arsenal still needed to pay him approximately €7 million for the remainder of his contract.

Additionally, he is expected to say his goodbyes to the team in this Sunday’s training. The Gunners are preparing to face Newcastle this Monday night.

The Germany international will now join his boyhood club after 184 Premier League appearances. Ozil will try to help Fenerbahce’s campaign to replace Istanbul Basaksehir as the Turkish champions.
