The Borussia Dortmund star has appeared as a transfer target for a host of elite European sides.

Liverpool have reportedly made their first formal offer to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

Since joining the Black and Yellows in 2020, Bellingham has developed into one of the most promising midfielders in Europe.

The 19-year-old has secured a regular spot in England’s lineup while attracting interest from a number of top sides. Liverpool and Real Madrid have stayed ahead of other clubs in the race to sign Bellingham.

However, it seems the Reds have taken their efforts to a new level with a formal bid.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have made a £100m offer to sign Bellingham. This will reportedly open negotiations between Dortmund and the English giants over Bellingham’s future.

“It’s known that a bid [from Liverpool] just shy of £100m has been submitted for Jude Bellingham ahead of this summer’s transfer window,” Football agent Haydn Dodge told Caught Offside.

Liverpool are keen to bolster their midfield line with fresh blood next summer. The club have reportedly decided against extending the contract of Oxlade-Chamberlain to free up more space on their wage bill for Bellingham.

Liverpool’s reported move for the England international could force the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United to start their possible negotiations with Dortmund before the end of the season.
