According to a report from England, Joan Laporta will go after a Premier League legend if he wins next Sunday’s elections at FC Barcelona.

With FC Barcelona’s presidential elections right around the corner, Joan Laporta already has a massive plan to attract a Premier League legend. According to a report from the Daily Mail, the candidate already contacted Sergio Aguero for a potential transfer to Catalonia. If you didn’t recall, ‘Kun’ has a bright past as an Atletico Madrid star. He knows the Spanish La Liga pretty well and he wouldn’t need time to adapt. Considering he is one of Leo Messi’s closest friends, convincing him to join wouldn’t be difficult.

Plus, he is considered a seasoned veteran so he wouldn’t be expensive either. Aguero already cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest strikers in history. What he did at Manchester City will be hard to match for many decades and he owes nothing to nobody there. Pep Guardiola has constantly praised the star as one of the club’s greatest players ever. It might be time for him to consider new options now that he is a proper legend at the club.

How can Barcelona convince Aguero?

The easiest route would be to ask Leo Messi to intervene in his possible transfer. Should Joan Laporta win next Sunday’s elections, he will likely convince the Barcelona captain to remain at the club. However, ‘Kun’ would also consider staying at Manchester City until he retires for good if Messi goes to England. At this point, everything that can happen is strictly dependent on who becomes the next Barcelona president.

We will all remain glued to the media trying to follow the election process that will determine the Catalan club’s future. It sure would be nice to finally have a Messi/’Kun’ partnership at a club level, just to see how well they play together. They haven’t been able to play as much in the Argentina National Team for a variety of reasons. But tell us where would you like them to play together, England or Spain?
