According to new information, Cristiano Ronaldo might be used for negotiating a deal by Juventus if a good offer comes for him.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s image after Juventus’ embarrassing defeat against Benevento last weekend was quite telling of the situation. Even though the club repeatedly says they are not willing to let their star leave, the reality is very different. In hindsight, Cristiano Ronaldo is the one who could ultimately make a decision to leave the club next summer. After three years of no Champions League glory, it’s only natural he wants to leave the club in search of a new challenge.
Diario AS reports that the Bianconeri are willing to entertain a good offer and the player would leave if the money is right for him as well. Earning around €25 million per season will do the trick, any club that comes with a good proposal for both will get Cristiano. Juventus are trying to save face with their fan base but the reality is that they need to get rid of some elevated wages at the club in order to survive. Letting their best player leave might not even be a choice for them, but an obligation.
Where does Real Madrid fit in all this?
The report from AS also suggests that the player’s intention is to return to Real Madrid as soon as possible. Juventus would definitely negotiate for the player with the club that sold him to them in the first place. The problem here is that Florentino has other top priorities and Ronaldo would be sort of a Plan C for him.
Should he return by next season, there is no doubt that Los Blancos would instantly become the same competitive squad they were before he left. Perhaps getting back to the place where he became a legend is exactly what he needs in order to jump-start his wild success again. Also, we would get the final chapter of a legendary rivalry between him and Leo Messi. Who wouldn’t pay to see that happen all over again?
