Barcelona are seriously considering signing Manchester United superstar Nani’s highly talented teenage cousin.
19-year-old Sidnei Tavares has been on Leicester’s ranks for 10 years. However, as his contract ends this summer, Barcelona have begun plotting their move for the youngster.
Sidnei is none other than Nani’s cousin. The Portuguese forward, now playing in the MLS, spent seven seasons at Old Trafford. Although his younger cousin is yet to make his Premier League debut, he completed his pre-season with Leicester’s senior squad. In fact, Brendan Rodgers even described the midfielder as ‘real talent’. Tavares has been playing for the Under-23 side this season.
According to The Sun, Barcelona are willing to pay a sizable sum to secure the youngster in the January market. However, should the deal fail to go through, the Blaugrana are believed to already have a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ with the Foxes. If Tavares fails to sign a new contract till the summer, Barcelona will become his new destination.
This agreement may be worth gold as several European giants have been linked with Sidnei Tavares in the past. The 19-year-old is highly regarded by the likes of Juventus, Porto, Bayern Munich, Celtic, and Marseille.
