Alvaro Morata is on the verge of re-joining Juventus after a loan deal and a buy option at the end of the season was agreed on Monday.

Alvaro Morata is expected in Turin tomorrow for his Juventus medical. The Bianconeri have agreed a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season from Atletico Madrid for a total of €54m.

Juventus were widely in the hunt for a striker this summer and initially set their sights on either of Luis Suarez or Eden Dzeko.

But with the Uruguayan now set to join Atletico Madrid, Juve saw Morata as the ideal fit for their striker problem. Elsewhere, the situation around Dzeko remains complicated and it was only ideal the Italian giants looked elsewhere.

According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal is more or less done and could even be announced as early as tomorrow.

Juve will pay €9-10m for the one-season loan, with an option to buy Morata for €45m.

Sky Sport Italia further claim there is also an option to extend the loan for another season.

If Juve go on to sign the Spaniard, it would see Pirlo re-unite with his ex-teammate. On a personal level, the forward will welcome a return to Turin, especially as his wife is from the city and they met there.

Morata was a member of the Juventus squad during Pirlo’s final season at the club in 2015.

Since leaving Juve, the 27-year-old has had a second stint at Real Madrid as well as  a two-year spell at Chelsea.

At Atletico, the Spaniard has scored 22 goals in 61 appearances for the club.
