According to reports coming from the Italian media, Alexis Sanchez could be on his way back to a new club in La Liga. He has three options.
Alexis Sanchez’s time in Spain was very short-lived at FC Barcelona but he could be on his way back to a new club. Last weekend, the Chilean star posted an Instagram story in which he sent a cryptic message. An image of an abandoned Lamborghini was paired with the following phrase: “You need to realize your worth. If you are in the wrong place, you are not going to shine.”
This was obviously a message to the Inter Milan board for not even calling him up for a match when he is fit to play. It is also another message from Alexis to his critics for coming after him so much. However, the South American star is already trying to find a new club where he can keep playing the game. His main goal is to be fit enough to reach the 2022 World Cup in Qatar over a year from now. It won’t matter if he downgrades to a less important club at this point. All Alexis wants is to remain active for that final tournament he could play with his national team.
Which clubs could be interested in Alexis Sanchez?
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there are three clubs that could come after Alexis during the winter transfer window. Those clubs are Valencia, Real Betis, and Rayo Vallecano. It is possible that a reunion with Radamel Falcao could bring about the old days when they both shared the River Plate colors. In fact, Rayo’s uniform is very similar to River’s. So, there’s a certain poetic justice if this happens. But Sanchez needs to step up his game a lot more if he wants to remain relevant in 2021.
Ever since he moved from Serie A to La Liga, he’s never truly reached that level of performance we all expected from him. Although he did play fantastic football with the Chilean National Team. This might be Alexis Sanchez’s final opportunity to do something important with a club in European football. He doesn’t even need to prove anyone wrong, he only needs this to prove himself he is worth all that money that’s been paid for him.
