The 18-year-old forward makes a timely return for Jose Mourinho’s side as they look to bounce back from a poor run of results.

AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan is available again after recovering from COVID-19.

The Ghanaian took to Twitter on Friday to reveal that he had returned a negative result for the virus, allowing him to end his 10-day period of self-isolation and report back to training.

In his absence, Roma lost both of their Serie A games to Bologna and Inter Milan to nil. The defeats have left the Giallorossi down in seventh in the league table, nine points outside the top four.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men returned to winning ways on Thursday by beating CSKA Sofia 3-2 in the Europa Conference League. It granted them top spot in Group C, and passage into the next round.

With Afena-Gyan back, they’ll hope to build on this win ahead of Monday’s Serie A meeting with Spezia at Stadio Olimpico.

The Sunyani-born youngster has scored two goals in three league games since making his first-team debut in late October.
