Alejandro Balde’s assist found Lewa, who scored his maiden Barca goal with a precise finish from inside the box.
Barcelona went ahead early on, but their lead lasted only five minutes. A sublime cheap shot from Alexander Isak brought the hosts back into the game after Frenkie de Jong lost possession in midfield.
Sociedad had a few chances to score their second goal as Barca’s shaky backline provided space for their counter-attacks.
The Catalans struggled to get through the hosts’ defensive line, but Xavi’s decision to bring in Ansu Fati in the 64th minute changed the course of the game.
The Spaniard provided an assist for Ousmane Dembele two minutes after coming into the game. He then went on to give another assist to Lewandowski, who completed his brace in the 68th minute.
Barcelona continued their attacks, putting more pressure on Sociedad’s backline down the middle. Fati completed his brilliant display by scoring Barca’s fourth goal from close range.
The Catalans bounced back from their frustrating start to the league against Rayo Vallecano.
Xavi’s side must prepare to face Valladolid in their next La Liga game on Sunday.
