A certain Spaniard has been on the sidelines for over a month and hopes feature again for Los Blancos after the international break.

Dani Carvajal picked up a knee problem during the penultimate training session ahead of Real Madrid’s clash against Levante in October.

The defender suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament on his right knee, with reports claiming at the time that could miss up to two months of action.

El Clasico and all of the Champions League group stage fixtures so far are some of the important matches that the right-back has missed yet.

The 28-year old is expected to return at the beginning of December and he informs that his recovery process has been going well.

“I’m doing much better [after] my entire internal ligament broke,” Carvajal stated in an interview with Marca.

“The estimated time of recovery was ten weeks. This Friday, I will be six weeks out injured.

“I’m doing quite well, I’m doing ball work. I’m doing more intense things and hopefully now after the international break, I’ll be available for the coach. Now, there’s a bit of feeling my leg, when I hit [the ball], and when turning.”

Federico Valverde recently suffered a serious injury while Casemiro and Eden Hazard are also out due to COVID-19 cases, leaving Zinedine Zidane with a depleted Real Madrid squad.
