Injuries have been a constant thorn in the flesh for the Belgian in his past two seasons at Santiago Bernabeu – but not anymore.

Eden Hazard insists has offered a fresh optimistic fitness update saying his “ankle injury is a thing of the past”.

Hazard endured a frightfull debut season at Real Madrid following his big-money move from Chelsea as a variety of injuries forced him to stay on the sidelines for the majority of the season.

2020-21 wasn’t much better either, with recurring physical problems yet again largely limiting his time on the pitch.

The 30-year-old, however, supposedly worked hard to improve his fitness in this summer’s pre-season and put in a good shift in his side’s opening match of the new La Liga campaign on Saturday, providing an assist for Karim Benzema’s opener as Los Blancos recorded an impressive 4-1 win away at Alaves.

“I have nothing but good feelings for me and for the team,” Hazard told Movistar+.

“The feelings are good, I’m feeling good, we want to win LaLiga this season.

“My ankle injury is a thing of the past, it’s already out of my head. I am going to give everything this season.

“I think this year we can do good things together. The most important thing is that we are all together, we can put three or four forwards but we are all for the team. The important thing is to win the three points each game.”
