The Blancos have moved quickly to secure their first big signing of the summer.

Real Madrid are on the verge of signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

Since joining the Bundesliga giants in 2020, Bellingham has established himself as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe.

The England international’s fantastic performances attracted interest from a host of elite sides. But Real Madrid seem to have won the race to sign him this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Dortmund to sign Bellingham for €100m plus add-ons.

Having already discussed personal terms with the teenager in April, the La Liga giants are planning to give Bellingham a six-year deal. The Blancos are reportedly eager to announce Bellingham’s arrival until the end of this week.

Signing Bellingham is another major step in Real Madrid’s plans to rebuild their midfield line. With the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos reaching the final years of their careers, younger stars are set to shape the team’s new midfield unit.

Bellingham will intensify the competition in Real Madrid’s midfield, putting more pressure on the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni. However, his versatility will most likely secure him a regular spot from the very start of his career at Santiago Bernabeu.
