Marco Asensio’s current contract at Real Madrid will expire next summer.
Real Madrid have reportedly made a new contract offer to Marco Asensio.
The winger saw his game time reduce significantly at the beginning of the current season. His situation attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, who were keen to sign him as a free agent next summer.
However, Carlo Ancelotti has phased Asensio back into his lineup in recent weeks, with the Spaniard making a few impressive displays for the Blancos.
The Spain international’s newly-found form has seemingly earned him a new contract offer at Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Marca, Real Madrid have submitted a new offer to Asensio’s representatives.
Speaking with the Spanish outlet last week, Asensio admitted his priority is to stay at the club.
“Things are being discussed, we’ll see where it goes,” he told Marca.
“I’m focused on myself and the next game. I hope everything comes to fruition.
“I want to renew and be at Madrid for a long time, but it’s not something that depends only on me. For me the most important thing is the sporting side and being happy.”
Marca claims Asensio is weighing his options ahead of making a decision on his next move. He is free to negotiate with other clubs for a potential free transfer, but it’s clear that Blancos have a good chance of keeping him at the club.
