The La Liga champions might lose a key player next summer.

Toni Kroos has turned down Real Madrid’s offer to extend his contract ahead of the summer transfer window.

The German midfielder’s current deal runs until the summer of 2023, with the Blancos hoping to extend his contract for another year.

The German midfielder is reportedly happy with his current situation in Madrid and is considering ending his football at Santiago Bernabeu.

Kroos has suffered a sudden dip in form in the second half of the current campaign. However, Carlo Ancelotti still considers him a crucial part of his plans for the Blancos.

According to Spanish media, the Italian boss has no doubts about starting the experienced midfielder in his side’s upcoming match against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Should Real Madrid win the trophy, Kroos can celebrate his fifth Champions League title. The 32-year-old started for the Blancos when they smashed Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018 UCL final.

Let’s see if Kroos and co can repeat their success to win the club’s 14th UCL title on May 28.
