The club confirmed the coach’s condition on Wednesday morning ahead of their return to action this weekend.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for coronavirus.
The 62-year-old Italian’s prognosis comes just three days before the Spanish league leaders play their first game back from the international break away to Celta Vigo this Saturday.
A brief statement on Wednesday morning read: “Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for COVID-19.”
The club gave no further information on Ancelotti’s well-being or his availability. His son, Davide Ancelotti, could take charge of the team until further notice.
After facing Celta Vigo, Real Madrid will travel to London for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Chelsea next Wednesday.
