Despite winning the previous Spanish La Liga, a Real Madrid legend is reportedly puzzled by the criticism from the media in the country.

There has been an onslaught of criticism against Real Madrid over the most recent results and they have a specific culprit for everything. Zinedine Zidane has won three consecutive Champions League titles and two La Liga trophies over the last three years. Despite this success, every media outlet in the country is still coming at him and his players for the most recent results.

This is something that Zidane simply doesn’t understand, it puzzles him how the media and some supporters have such a short memory span. Just last season, Los Blancos struggled to surpass FC Barcelona at the top of the table and won La Liga in a complicated year.

It hasn’t been six months since that happened and the critics are back trying to knock them down again. According to ‘El Chiringuito’, the French manager struggles to understand why his players don’t have some credit for what they accomplished over the last five years.

Zidane doesn’t get criticism, but he accepts it.

Even though he is still confused by the lack of memory over the recent accomplishments, Zidane accepts all criticism. As a former Real Madrid player, he knows how demanding this club can become and he gets this is just an occupational hazard. Ahead of their Champions League debut against Shakhtar Donetsk, Zidane spoke about these critics.

But the information from ‘El Chiringuito’ shared that the gaffer feels confident he will have all the players at the top of their game when the season matters the most. No board member inside Real Madrid doubts Zinedine Zidane, he’s earned that credit for his achievements. However, ‘Zizou’ also knows that pressure is an everyday norm at the club.

“In the end, we always talk about the same,” said Zidane via Diario AS. “We know what we have to do. The critics when you lose will always happen. We need to focus on ourselves. It was a bad performance and now we get another game to change that impression. The key is to remain together and fight for everything we have in front of us.”
