The Blancos are eager to keep the German midfielder in their squad.

Toni Kroos is yet to decide on whether he wants to extend his Real Madrid contract.

The experienced midfielder became the only player (or club) in history to have won six Club World Cup trophies when Real Madrid claimed the title on Saturday.

Kroos has featured for the Blancos in 17 of their 20 games in La Liga this season, continuing his key role in Carlo Ancelotti’s lineup.

The club has reportedly entered negotiations to extend Kroos’ contract. But the 33-year-old says he might need more time to think about his future.

“There are different things that you have to think about if you want to continue or not,” Kroos said after Saturday’s win. “I’m thinking about it.

“It won’t take many more months, but there still isn’t a decision.

“We are very calm and there is a relationship between the club and myself that nobody does nonsense. I am very calm.”

Following their victory in the Club World Cup’s final, Real Madrid must return to La Liga for a mid-week game.

Kroos and co will host Elche on Wednesday before taking on Osasuna three days later. Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie next week.
