The Blancos are facing an injury crisis ahead of their return to La Liga after the international break.
Real Madrid are hit with two more squad blows as Vinicius Junior and Edouardo Camavinga join their injury list.
Vinicius Jr limped off Brazil’s 2-1 defeat against Columbia earlier this week after sustaining a leg injury. On Saturday, Real Madrid confirmed the 23-year-old was diagnosed with a “rupture in the femoral biceps” of his left leg. The Brazilian winger is expected to stay sidelined for at least two months.
Another Real Madrid star, Camavinga, had to leave France’s camp after tests revealed he had suffered a serious knee injury. The midfielder will most likely return to action in early February 2024.
Vinicius Jr and Camavinga’s injuries further deepen Real Madrid’s injury crisis ahead of their return to La Liga. Another Blancos star who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines is Aurelien Tchouameni, who is expected to return from his foot injury around Christmas.
Real Madrid’s injury list also includes goalkeeping pair Thibaut Courtois (ACL injury) and Kepa Arrizabalaga. The latter, however, is expected to make his return shortly after La Liga’s restart.
Eder Militao, who is also out with an ACL injury, still has a chance to regain full fitness before the end of the season. Arda Guler, who has struggled with consecutive injuries since his arrival, does not have a clear return date.
Dani Ceballos and Jude Bellingham, who stayed at Real Madrid during the international break, are ready to participate in team training ahead of Real Madrid’s match against Cadiz next week.
