While the 2022/23 season is not yet over, Real Madrid have already closed their first transfer deal for the next campaign.

Rayo Vallecano full-back Fran Garcia will rejoin Real Madrid this summer, according to Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The 23-year-old began his career in the Real Madrid youth system. He made one first-team appearance during the 2018/19 season before going out on loan to Rayo Vallecano. After helping the club to get promoted to La Liga, Garcia signed permanently for Rayo and has impressed ever since.

Garcia has now secured a move back to his boyhood club for a reported €5 million fee.

“Fran Garcia is a left-back who has a lot of energy. He is very fast with the ball, and he attacks very well,” Ancelotti said after Real Madrid defeated Rayo Vallecano 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

“He is a very good profile for Real Madrid, and next year he will be with us.”

According to various reports, Real Madrid are also pulling out all the stops to sign the highly-rated Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund as well.

Ancelotti’s side secured three points against Rayo due to an 89th-minute goal from Rodrygo Goes. The match saw Raul de Tomas score for the opposing team, canceling out Karim Benzema’s first-half goal. The result allowed the home team to climb up to second place in the La Liga table, taking advantage of Atletico Madrid’s 3-3 draw with Espanyol.
