The Blancos are keen to add a new forward to their ranks this summer.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

The 31-year-old will leave Liverpool after his contract expires this summer. During his eight-year spell at Anfield, Firmino registered 110 goals and 79 assists in his 361 displays for the Reds.

The Brazilian star has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid ahead of his move away from Liverpool.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Firmino is one of Real Madrid’s 4-5 targets to bolster their attacking line this summer. The Sky Sports journalist, however, claims the Blancos are yet to enter formal negotiations with him.

As Karim Benzema enters the final years of his career, Real Madrid hope to have a smooth transition in their attacking line. The club’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe was unsuccessful as the France international renewed his Paris Saint-Germain contract earlier this season.

However, most observers believe the Blancos might prepare another offer for Mbappe as they consider him as Benzema’s ultimate replacement.

Signing Firmino, on the other hand, would provide Real Madrid with an experienced forward who can play both as a number nine and behind the striker.

Carlo Ancelotti has occasionally used Rodrygo in the centre-forward position. But it seems that Real Madrid are keen to increase their squad depth by signing a new forward this summer.
