The veteran boss has coached ten clubs during his glorious managerial career.

Carlo Ancelotti plans to retire when his current spell at Real Madrid ends.

The Italian manager returned to Madrid for a second stint at the club last summer. A fantastic 2021-22 season saw Real Madrid claim both La Liga and the Champions League.

Ancelotti became the only manager who has won all of Europe’s top five leagues. By claiming his fourth Champions League trophy, the Italian manager is also the most successful manager in UCL history.

“This stage at Real will end my career,” he told Il Messagero“After Los Blancos, I’ll stop.

“Real is the top of football. It makes sense to put an end to it after this experience.”

He added: “Time has changed some dynamics. Until a few years ago, the priorities were technical and tactical. Now, I am conquered by human relationships, by getting to know people, by confronting the new generation.”

Ancelotti started his managerial journey by working as Italy’s assistant manager. He then joined Reggiana to start his first job as a head coach in 1995.

Successful spells at Parma, Juventus and Milan established Ancelotti’s name as one of the best coaches in European football.

The former AC Milan star then took on his first job abroad by joining Chelsea in 2009. A three-year spell saw Ancelotti win the Premier League crown before joining Paris Saint-Germain.

He stayed only one year at Parc des Prince, joining Real Madrid in July 2013. During his first spell at Santiago Bernabeu, Ancelotti claimed the Champions League trophy with the Blancos but failed to end Barcelona’s dominance in La Liga.

The Italian boss then joined Bayern Munich and Napoli before joining Everton in 2019. He had a year left on his Toffees contract when an offer from Real Madrid convinced him to join his former side for one last dance.
