The Italian boss has emerged as the number one candidate to succeed Tite as Brazil’s next manager.
Carlo Ancelotti insists he wants to continue at Real Madrid, saying his future depends on the club’s decision.
Ancelotti is under contract at Real Madrid until June 2024. Last year, the Italian manager revealed his decision to retire after his second spell at Santiago Bernabeu.
However, reports about a possible move to Brazil have intensified since Tite’s exit from the national team after the World Cup.
Pep Guardiola was reportedly Brazil’s first choice for their next manager. However, with the Spaniard’s contract extension at City, the Selecao have reportedly focused on hiring Ancelotti ahead of the next edition of the Copa America.
Speaking about the rumours, Ancelotti said on Saturday: “The club has to decide. I’d really love to stay at Real Madrid for my whole life, but it’s impossible. I want to continue here.
“If they want me to stay 3 months, I’ll enjoy 3 months. If they want 3 years, I’ll enjoy 3 years.”
Last month, an ESPN reporter claimed Ancelotti had given the green light to take charge as Brazil’s next manager. However, the Brazil Football Federation (CBF) officially denied the rumours in a statement.
