The France international has struggled to secure a regular spot in Real Madrid’s lineup this season.

Carlo Ancelotti insists “untouchable” Eduardo Camavinga is not on Real Madrid’s sell list ahead of the next summer.

Camavinga joined Real Madrid on a €31m deal from Rennes in August 2021. In his first season at Santiago Bernabeu, the Frenchman made 26 La Liga appearances under Ancelotti.

However, he has failed to step up as a regular starter this season, staying behind more experienced players in Blancos’ pecking order.

Camavinga has started only five games for Real Madrid this season, mainly playing a rotational role in their midfield.

The 20-year-old’s situation has tempted Arsenal and Chelsea to consider signing him on a loan deal next summer. But Ancelotti is already considering Camavinga as a cornerstone of Real Madrid’s future midfield line.

“Eduardo is untouchable, like [Luka] Modric and [Toni] Kroos,” he said ahead of Sunday’s trip to Athletic Bilbao.

In addition to Camavinga, three other Real Madrid players are dealing with uncertainty over their future at Santiago Bernabeu.

Nacho Fernandez, Dani Ceballos, and Marco Asensio are all spending the final six months of their respective contracts. However, Ancelotti is confident that the transfer rumours won’t affect their performances.

“They could start the game, or be decisive in the game,” he added. “You have to evaluate. From what I see, I see very motivated players, and they show it. We have to see what happens.

“Their contracts are running down and they show that they have motivation, desire, and concentration. The fact that their contract ends does not affect them at all.”
