The English midfielder has found a fantastic start to his Real Madrid career.

Carlo Ancelotti has praised “outstanding” Jude Bellingham for his quick adaptation at Real Madrid.

Bellingham made his official Real Madrid debut in a La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday. The 20-year-old scored a brilliant goal to double Real Madrid’s lead in the 36th minute, helping the Blancos to win their opening match of the new campaign.

Following a €103m move from Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham faces high expectations at Santiago Bernabeu. But Ancelotti is already ensured of the midfielder’s qualities.

“He’s outstanding. He has plenty of personality and has adapted very quickly to the team’s system. It seems like he’s been with us for a long time and he’s a very talented player,” Ancelotti said in a press conference after the match.

In addition to his goal, Bellingham won 13 duels in his Real Madrid debut, constantly engaging in physical battles in midfield.

Ancelotti use a four-man midfield line against Bilbao, playing Bellingham in front of Edouardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni. However, the English star is also versatile enough to take on the role of a box-to-box midfielder.

Real Madrid will face Almeria in their next La Liga game on Saturday.
