As per a report, Real Madrid have already lined up two possible replacements if they choose to part ways with Zinedine Zidane.
Real Madrid have prepared a backup plan should Zinedine Zidane leave the Bernabeu. Club legend Raul and Germany boss Joachim Low have already been identified as potential options, claims reports.
The French boss has just one year left on his contract with the Spanish giants as he attempts to keep Madrid fighting on multiple fronts. Los Blancos are still six points adrift of La Liga leaders Atletico and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Zidane has faced pressure as Madrid boss this season after a slow start and was at one point linked with an exit from the club.
As per Spanish outlet AS, Madrid chiefs are lining up contingencies should he depart with president. Florentino Perezis eyeing up their Castilla boss Raul or under-fire Germany manager Joachim Low.
Raul has been earmarked as the successor to Zidane, with the Los Blancos legend already showing his worth with the Castilla side.
The report adds that the former striker would be the ‘most feasible’ option to coach Madrid as a seemless internal appointment. It is claimed that Raul is ‘daring tactically’ and performing better with Castilla than Zidane did.
Elsewhere, Low will become a free agent this summer after announcing that he will leave the Germany national team after a 14-year stint.
However, keeping hold of Zidane might be for Real Madrid, as it will mean they have performed well in the Champions League – which would strengthen his position.
