Absolutely shocking scenes at Alfredo Di Stefano stadium as Real Madrid lost to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

Subsequently, this is the second defeat for Los Blancos in the span of five days. Madrid suffered a massive 3-2 loss to Shakhtar in the Champions League opener. In addition, their injury-time equalizer did not count as VAR ruled it out.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian side missed 10 of their first-team players because of illness or injury. Evidently, Shakhtar turned out to be the best team with their stunning performance.

Madrid lost complete control of the game in the first half following Shakhtar’s constant threat. In the 29th minute, Tete humiliated Thibaut Courtois with his low drive.

Moreover, just a few moments later, the Ukraine side doubled the lead over Madrid. Tete’s long-range strike was deflected for an own goal from Raphael Varane.

Although, this was not the end of it. Yet again, Tete’s backheel found Solomon free in the box to slot it past Courtois for the third time.

However, Madrid gained some momentum in the second half with the arrival of Karim Benzema. In the 54th minute, Luka Modric fired home a screamer to pull one back for the Spanish side.

Additionally, Vinicius Jr made an immediate impact after coming off the bench. He dispossessed Marlos to make a run in the box to finish it past Anatoliy Trubin.

Also, Real Madrid will face arch-rivals Barcelona in the season’s first El Classico this weekend.
