Real Betis held Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw in their La Liga game on Friday. The Green and Whites wrap up their impressive 2021-22 campaign by securing Europa League qualification.
No goals for Blancos ahead of UCL final!
It took Real Madrid almost half of the first period to establish their control over the game. However, they managed to create a few serious chances to break the deadlock.
Toni Kroos and Casemiro came the closest, but their low shots went just wide, with the first-half ending in a goalless stalemate.
The Blancos looked much improved in their attacks after the interval. They increased the pressure on Betis’ backline while trying to avoid surprise counter-attacks.
However, the guests managed to hold on to their defensive integrity, surviving a few more critical moments at the dying stages of the game.
The draw secures Betis’ presence in the next season’s Europa League. The Copa del Rey champions finish the league campaign one spot above where they stood the last season.
