RB Leipzig star Angelino says his side will go all out against a Manchester United side that can be average on a number of occasions.
Angelino is confident RB Leipzig has no reason to be afraid of Manchester United when they face-off in the Champions League.
United returned to the Champions League after a one-season absence after they finished third in the league last season.
They have been rewarded with a tricky start against Leipzig alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir in Group H. The group has so far been dubbed this year’s ‘group of death’.
Leipzig reached the semi-final stage last term only to be beaten 3-0 by PSG, who went on to lose 1-0 against Bayern Munich in the final. Angelino played a key role in that run after joining on loan from Manchester City, with the loan deal now extended until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The Spanish defender is geared up to face the Red Devils once again and spoke about Leipzig’s chances of qualifying from their Champions League group.
“I don’t know that much about Basaksehir. We know Paris from the semi-finals in the tournament in Lisbon,” Angelino said to RB Live.
“What I’ve seen from Manchester United so far: sometimes they’re world class, sometimes they’re average. We don’t have to hide.”
Manchester United will begin their Champions League campaign against PSG on the 20th of October. Eight days later, they will welcome Leipzig to Old Trafford in a clash that could determine the fate of both sides in the group.
