After being part of the incredible bashing against Southampton, Marcus Rashford expressed one of his most burning desires ahead of it.
Marcus Rashford played a big role in Man United’s bashing against Southampton on Tuesday that will give the Saints nightmares for decades. This was a Premier League match that ended in a 9-0 victory for the Red Devils and gave Rashford more great moments. The England international scored a goal and provided another one during the first half.
After this historic victory, he wanted to remind the other title contenders in the tournament that United is going to fight for the title this season. Despite having a disadvantage against Manchester City, United proved last night that they have what it takes to demolish a Premier League club. Something that still hadn’t happened under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rashford aims big this season in England.
After the match, the forward wanted to send a stern warning to all the other competitors: “Hopefully it can push us all in the right direction for the rest of the season now,” said Rashford, via Express. “We’ve dropped a few points in the last few league games so yes, we needed a night like this really, just to get us going again. We can’t really ask for much more, so we need to use this performance and the result as motivation really, and something to mirror in the next few games. “If we do that, we’ll pick up three points.”
“Whenever we can, we want to put these types of results together and go out and really finish teams off and this was a perfect example of that,” added Rashford. “It’s always good to score lots of goals and it’s three points that we needed. We’ve dropped some points in the last few games and we needed to get back to winning ways so that was a great opportunity to do that.”
