Marcus Rashford has lots of memorable moments in his career to pick from but has named a particular one as the pick of the bunch.
Rashford has revealed the best moment of his Manchester United career so far.
Most players usually have certain milestones or the day they won a particular trophy as the best moment of their careers.
For Rashford, it’s quite different. Despite having a Champions League hat-trick, represented his country at a World Cup and also boasting decisive goals against Liverpool and Manchester City, the forward goes way back for his pick.
The United academy graduate was a late addition to the squad for his side’s Europa League last-32 encounter with Midtjylland in 2016. He went on to score a brace at Old Trafford in a 5-1 victory.
Rashford has chosen that moment as his best and also the best night of his life to date.
“That was probably the best night of my life,” he said to the club’s official Podcast.
“When I was walking out I saw so many people that I knew in the crowd. It was the weirdest experience ever. I just saw so many faces that I recognised.”
“I just sort of lost myself on the pitch that day,” he continued.
“United always say, when you’re growing up, to express yourself on the pitch.”
“They’re the ones that taught me that and I think that’s why we have so many youngsters come through because, without knowing it, they’re ready to play. That’s credit to United and the system.”
While Rashford continues to make a name for himself on the pitch, the 23-year-old is equally impressing off it as well.
