The forward, who was influential in his side’s progression in the FA Cup, was forced to leave the pitch near towards the end of the game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Marcus Rashford is set to undergo a scan on his knee after picking up an injury during Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Liverpool.

Rashford put in an impressive performance, bagging a goal and an assist to help United book a place in the FA Cup 5th round.

The 23-year-old attacker set up Mason Greenwood for the leveler to cancel out Mohamed Salah’s opening strike before finding the net on his own to put his side on the front foot.

It was a quite positive evening for the Englishman had to be replaced by Anthony Martial in the closing stages of the game due to a fitness issue.

Rashford was seen limping down the tunnel, and Solskjaer says further investigation needs to be done to figure out the problem.

“Let’s hope [everything is alright],” replied the Man United boss when asked about the player’s condition, via Metro. “His knee was bothering him. So a scan tomorrow and we’ll see where we are.”

Solskjaer added on Rashford’s playing style: “Marcus has played up front, down the right and left and we felt if we could switch the ball early today we could attack them because Liverpool defend on the front foot so we have to be quick on the ball, we did that well.”
